Students across 14 campuses protest RBC and big banks
Students across the country held 14 actions protesting Canada’s big banks and calling for their schools to kick RBC Off Campus!
Students demand RBC, TD, Scotiabank, BMO and CIBC:
1. Drop the Coastal Gaslink and Trans Mountain pipelines
2. Divest from Fossil Fuels
3. Respect Indigenous Peoples’ right to Free, Prior and Informed Consent as per the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People
Students took action by hosting public education events, canvassing, disruptive actions, banner drops, rallies, marches and siting in at OnCampus branches to send a clear message to RBC: You are not wanted on our campuses!
Campus protests took place at:

- University of British Columbia, Okanagan
- University of Guelph
- Lakehead University, Thunder Bay
- Okanagan College
- University of Ottawa
- Queens University
- Simon Fraser University
- University of Toronto
- University of Waterloo
- Western University
- University of Windsor
- York University
Many campus groups worked with coalitions for this day of action, strengthening our movements commitment to solidarity and reciprocity as struggle towards liberation for all. Students made critical connections between banks on campus, Indigenous sovereignty in so-called Canada, and the genocide in Gaza. Students at York University went on to join the picket line, in solidarity with CUPE 3903 on strike.
