Fossil Fools Day: Protests at over 40 RBC locations
On April 1, over 40 protests and solidarity actions took place across the country calling out RBCs funding of fossil fuels and violations of Indigenous sovereignty. Change Course supported the Toronto Action, sending our energy and solidarity to the Wet’suwet’en Nation. We gathered to chant, sing and send our energy to the frontlines. Community members came to share their gifts of song, poetry, street theatre and drumming.
We heard from Wet’suwet’en land defender Eve Saint, who reminded us of RBCs complicity in funding genocide against Indigenous people, including last weeks violent raid at Gidim’ten checkpoint. Reconciliation will not come at the barrel of a gun.
