Canadian Federation of Student Ontario RISE Summit partnership
On October 18 & 19, Change Course attended and partnered with the Canadian Federation of Student-Ontario (CFSO) for the Racialized and Indigenous Student Experience (RISE) Summit. This event featured workshops, panels, and other activities designed to build community and help students explore ways to harness collective power for a better post-secondary experience for racialized students.
Our Campus Organizer, Celine, attended two incredible sessions on utilizing the student movement as a BIPOC student and organizing towards our survival and sustainability. We supported these workshops by sharing tools to develop organizing skills and teaching the fundamentals of organizing resources students can bring back to their campuses to strengthen and grow their campaigns.
Celine participated as a speaker, engaging in conversations about the importance of environmental justice and the necessity of recognizing its deep ties to settler-colonialism.
